- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ⅓ cup vanilla essence
- ⅓ cup sugar
- 3 tbsp butter
- 1 cup coffee
- 1 cup whipped cream
- 1 vanilla sponge cake
- ½ cup oats
How to make :

- Combine oats, maida, sugar, and butter in a bowl; mix thoroughly.
- Stir in vanilla essence into the bowl with the mixture.
- Butter a piece of aluminium foil and place it in a small baking tray, then transfer the mixture to the foil.
- Press down on the mixture until it is even and smooth.
- Preheat the oven and bake the mixture for 10 minutes or until it turns golden and crisp.
- Begin layering by cutting vanilla sponge cake and dipping each piece into coffee.
- Place the coffee-soaked cake at the bottom of a serving glass.
- Add a layer of whipped cream on top of the cake in the glass.
- Sprinkle the baked oat mixture over the whipped cream.
- Drizzle coffee syrup over the oat mixture.
- Repeat the layering process with additional cake, cream, oat mixture, and syrup.
- Garnish the top with chocolate vermicelli and a pinch of coffee powder.

For an extra layer of flavour, toast the oats and maida mixture before assembling the trifle.
