Ingredients
- ½ cup caster sugar
- 1 tbsp water
- 2 eggs
- 3 tbsp powdered sugar
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tbsp vanilla essence
How to make :
Classic Baked Caramel Custard Recipe
- In a pan, add ½ cup castor sugar along with 1 tbsp water and stir continuously until caramelised. Turn off the heat and keep this caramel sauce aside.
- In another bowl, beat 2 eggs and add 3 tbsp powdered sugar along with 1 cup of milk.
- Add 1 tbsp vanilla essence and mix well to form the custard batter.
- Grease an oven tray with butter or oil and place your silicone moulds in it.
- First, add a thin layer of caramel sauce followed by the custard batter.
- Fill up the tray with water to create a water bath to ensure even textures.
- Bake at 150°C in a preheated oven for 15 mins.
- Cool, demould and it’s ready to serve!
Special Tip
Refrigerate the caramel custard for a few hours or overnight to enhance the flavour and texture before serving.
