Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Britannia ghee
  • 500 gms carrot 
  • 1 ½ ltr milk 
  • ¼ cup mawa
  • ½ cup sugar 
  • ½ tsp cardamom powder
  • 3 tbsp dry fruits

How to make :

Gajar Halwa Recipe: A Winter Classic

  1. In a saucepan add 2 tbsp of Britannia ghee and heat it up
  2. Add 500 grams of shredded carrot to the saucepan
  3. Stir the shredded carrot in the ghee and then add 1 ½ ltr of milk into the mix.
  4. Add about ¼ cup of mawa to the mixture and stir to prevent the carrot from burning. 
  5. To sweeten, add about ½ cup of sugar and ½ tsp of cardamom powder. 
  6. Keep stirring until it has reduced to the halwa consistency.
  7. Add 3 tbsp of dry fruits to the mixture and serve!

Special Tip

You can use a single type of dry fruit instead of using a mix.
