- 1 cup khoya
- 1 ½ cup milk
- 1 tsp cardamom powder
- Saffron strands
- ¼ cup cashew nuts
- 1 cup unsalted sev
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tsp rose essence
How to make :
Easy Homemade Sev Barfi Recipe
- In a small bowl, add your saffron with 2 tbsp of milk. Mix it until the colour is released.
- In a non-stick pan, boil your milk.
- Once the milk comes to a boil, add your sugar and stir.
- Let the sugar dissolve and then add your khoya to the pan.
- Stir and allow the khoya to mix well until the mixture thickens.
- Now add in your unsalted sev and cook until sev has softened.
- Keep cooking until the mixture has left the side of the pan and has become doughy.
- Add in your cardamom powder and saffron milk and mix it well.
- Add your rose essence to the mix and cook it all for one more minute.
- Add the entire mix into a greased tin and spread it around evenly with a spatula.
- Garnish with a bit of khoya and your chopped-up cashew nut.
- Let it rest at room temperature for 4–5 hours or until cooled.
- Once cooled, serve up your yummy and tasty sev barfi to your friends and family!
Special Tip
Refrigerate and store this barfi in an airtight container for up to a week.
