Ingredients

  • 2 cups mashed potatoes 
  • 1 cup paneer
  • 2 tsp salt 
  • 2-3 green chillies
  • 2 tsp red chilli powder
  • ½ tsp garam masala
  • ½ mango powder 
  • ½ tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp fresh coriander 
  • 1 pack Britannia Cheese Slices
  • 1 pack Britannia Cheese Cubes
  • 3 tbsp besan 
  • ½ cup water 
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • Oil for frying 
  • 4 tbsp green chutney 
  • 2 vada pav buns

Vada Pav Wow

  1. Take 2 cups of plain mashed potatoes and add them in a large mixing bowl. 
  2. Add 1 cup of freshly grated paneer. 
  3. Add ½ tsp of salt and red chilli powder into the mix. 
  4. Finely chop 2-3 green chillies based on your personal preference. 
  5. Bring the familiar flavour of vada pav with ½ tsp of garam masala, mango powder and coriander powder. 
  6. Add 1 tsp of finely chopped fresh coriander and mix thoroughly. 
  7. Take your Britannia Cheese Cubes and Britannia Cheese Slices. 
  8. Fold one Britannia Cheese Cube from all sides with 1 Britannia Cheese Slice. 
  9. Take a bit of butter and spread it around in your hands. 
  10. Take a portion of the potato mixture and flatten it in your palm. 
  11. Place your folded cheese in the middle and coat it with some more potato mix until it forms a pav.
  12. Next, take a mixing bowl and about 3 tbsp of besan. 
  13. Add a pinch of salt and ⅓ tsp of chilli powder.
  14. Pour in your water until you form a slurry that is neither too thick nor too thin.

Plate ‘em Up

  1. Take your pavs and coat them with the besan slurry that you have made. 
  2. In a saucepan, add oil for frying and drop your coated pavs in them. 
  3. Once golden brown, strain the oil and place it on the side. 
  4. Take your vada pav bun and slice it through the middle. 
  5.  Add a knob of butter and slather it in the buns according to your preference. 
  6. Coat the bread with the green chutney for vada pav. 
  7. Place your vada on and put the top bun to complete.
